The Dovetail Grandschool

Dovetail: 'two elements coming together to form a stronger structure.' The Dovetail Grandschool is an inter-generational living and learning campus for secondary students and senior residents in Sandgate Bay. The campus celebrates the generational skillsets associated with maker spaces, providing workshop facilities for all to come together and teach one another manual and digital skills. The spaces proposed draw strong influence from the many variations of woodworking joinery that fuel the project purpose, as well as the cotton trees that line the Sandgate shoreline.
