Architecture - Masters
Ensino Medio encompasses the first stage of a new, ground-breaking facility of education in Florianopolis, Brazil. A rendered, modernist box aesthetic is utilised to represent contemporary learning and has been cantilevered above a solid and traditionally inspired, brick ground level, thereby symbolising a foundation of historical knowledge to be built upon. The new school aims to provide spaces which facilitate the transfer of knowledge from those older and wiser, to those only beginning their journey into the adult world.
Quinnlan shows keen interest in creating a better urban fabric of the future and believes that revaluing the architectural profession in the eyes of the average Australian has never been more important. By investing in architecture designed for people, not statistics, he hopes to see the benefits of well designed dwellings shared with the people who most need it.
